Here you can see the effect of Owatrol Oil mixed into a metal primer - a drop of primer was placed on the slightly rusted metal and stayed in the same place - i.e. did not spread properly, wheras the same primer with Owatrol Oil added, resulted in the primer spreading and penetrating into the good metal providing superior adhesion and moisture resistance.

Here you see two brush strokes, the one on the left is an oil-based metal primer neat and the one on the right, the same primer with about 25% Owatrol Oil added. (If white spirit was added, it would improve spreading also, BUT the primer would lose ''hiding power'', while Owatrol actually increases hiding power) Note the much improved spreading & coverage from a single brush stroke. That''s how it works when used with all oil-based paints, primers, varnishes etc - better coverage, and adhesion.

Interior Wood Finish

Owatrol makes an excellent interior wood finish when used neat. It can be applied by brush, roller, cloth or HVLP sprayer. If spraying, back roll to avoid runs etc. For best results apply two coats, the second coat about 45 minutes after the first coat, so don''t take on too much at a time.

Owatrol oil is very easy to apply, gives the wood a lovely natural / rustic look and lasts for ages.

Coverage: When used neat - Wood 5 - 8m2/litre. Rusted surfaces 8 - 12m2/litre
Drying time: When used neat on Wood - Overnight, Neat on Metal - 24 hours
