Industrial quality steel primer
CIP maybe used on new or rusted metal and is especially recommended for the protection of cars, civil engineering and marine equipment, nautical ballast tanks as well as every day items such as metal railings and gates.
Excellent for the frames on boat and dinghy trailers etc.
Simple to use
CIP (Corrosive Inhibiting Primer) is a non-toxic, coloured anti-corrosive primer that possess the unique penetrating properties of Owatrol Oil with the added benefit that it may be over coated with any coating from an ordinary decorative paint to a high solvent finish (urethane, epoxy, chlorinated rubber etc) without risk of it dissolving.
Simple and easy to use it may be applied by brush, roller or spray with minimal preparation.
Like Owatrol oil it drives out moisture and oxygen
CIP stabilises the surface penetrating deep into the substrate, driving out hidden moisture and air to form a solid stable layer that other coatings can firmly adhere to.
CIP adheres exceptionally well to clean, bright metal.
CIP is a first class primer for all new steel, especially where intricate joints etc exist.
Suitable for the toughest environments
Suitable for interior and exterior surfaces, CIP is ideal in difficult conditions such as Tropical or Marine climates, and where a high resistant finish is to be applied or necessary.
Check out Owatrol oil also
If you have seriously rusted steel, saturate it first with Owatrol Oil (also on this website). Leave for a few hours or a day or to is ok, then descale fast and easy with a scraper. All scale will be loosened making your prep job simple.
If you wish to overcoat with two pack or ''hot solvent'' paints*, overcoat the Owatrol oil treated area with CIP and later apply the paints. (* those paints will react if applied directly on top of Owatrol Oil, therefore CIP is used as a barrier coat)
If you want to use standard oil based paints over the Owatrol oil, no need for CIP.
